Magnetic Acrylic Signs ( New Product )

We have a new very limited quantity product that we were able to get from Dillards. Unfortunately our local Dillards retail store is closing, but fortunately for us they are selling 'tons' of store fixtures. One of the items we found while reviewing their inventory were these very nice looking magnetic acrylic signs.

Each sign comes double wrapped for protection. These signs are beautiful and our camera just does not do justice.

Size:
7" x 1.5" x .75"

Price:
$35.00 + s/h

We only have 75 of these items, oh make that 70 after making these samples.

New product possibilities ( Ancient text in native language laser engraved into glass mosaic tiles )

Phoenix Laser Engraving has successfully taken the first 111 characters of the Chinese text version of "The Art of War" and precisely laser engraved each Chinese character into one mosaic glass tile. The glass mosaic tile is from Premium Glass Mosaics, each tile is 1x1", with a 0.2" gutter between each glass mosaic tile. Once the template was created in CorelDraw it was just a matter of time to center each character vertically across the 11x11 mosaic grid.

Bamboo Shoji AC Vents turned into something else. Shoji Shadow Box!

My wife has started decorating with an Asian theme, within the past week I have seen the walls go from semi-gloss white to Asian Red. It looks great, and I offered to compliment her work by laser cutting some Shoji inspired AC vent covers. Well that idea got a little side tracked, when I started playing around with ideas.

For the past several days we have been working on a new product we are calling "Shoji Shadow Box". We have some videos and pictures of the first of many Shoji style decorative boxes.

Here are some pictures of our first prototype design:

Imposition Layout

RTFM - It's nice to learn about a feature in your software that will save time, and improve quality. Tonight after doing the eBay orders, and a bunch of dog tags, I started working a box of tile.

Phoenix Laser Engraving likes to be unique and wow customers, first appearances make a huge difference. Instead of using standard business cards we created laser engraved popsicle sticks.

Here is an image of our calling card.

Making a Jig for more dog tags

Since we will be able to sell our anodized aluminum dog tags at retail checkout, we needed a larger jig to make more at once. The original jig could only hold 11 dog tags at a time, the new one can hold 75. I put together a nice 7 minute video showing the process from start to finish.

World of Warcraft Toon on Granite

This is a pretty picture from the web, that we laser engraved on a piece of 12x12" granite. It took about an hour to create, I wish my husband remembered where he found the image so we can contact the artist and show them too.

Mesa Community College Gem and Mineral Show

What a Great Day we had today. A last minute decision brought us to the annual MCC Gem and Mineral show as a vendor this year instead of just browsing. We shook hands with a lot of people and talked a lot about our laser equipment and what we can do with natural stone, ceramic tile, glass and more... We handed out 'ALL' of our wooden popsicle stick business cards; people loved them and thought they were the coolest thing. Several people even asked if the business cards were free.

Working Late Tonight

The Annual Mesa Gem and Mineral show is this weekend at Mesa Community College. My wife and I are going to participate with a small booth to show off our stone engraving. So far I have several Granite, Marble, Tile, and other odds and ends to bring with us. I would have loved to bring the laser but it would require to much work to "safely" transport it and provide proper ventilation, not to mention renting a generator to provide power.

Also working on another crystal vase, the wife left instructions to put a swan on the front and back.
